IHWSH - Holiday Pringles

Word on the street is that Pringles will be coming out with some holiday flavors in November. While they sound pretty disgusting (And maybe are according to some reviews from early testers - words like "horrible abomination to humanity" were used ... pretty harsh. The best comment may have been "not revolting."). But, we have to try them just to say we did, right? So for this week's "I'll Have What She's Having" we'd like to present...

Pumpkin Pie Spice, Cinnamon Sugar, and White Chocolate Peppermint Pringles.

Important note so that you don't miss one of these limited edition flavors: Apparently the Pumpkin Pie flavor will be found only at Walmart.

Once you pop you can't stop...

It's Official

What's that we're holding? It's a folder full of the paperwork we signed yesterday morning when we closed on our house! Broke but happy, that's us. Lots and lots of fun to come. We can't wait to actually get the keys - either this Sunday evening or Monday morning! I guess it's time to start packing?

Since we're about to unlock the front door on our first house for the first time, thought it was a fitting time to talk door colors. This is what it looks like now... the red color is a much brighter red in person, and we actually really like it as it is...

But some other options that are at the top of the list. Thoughts/preferences welcome.

#1:

#2 Love this Benjamin Moore Bullseye Red (sort of a coraly-red).

#3:

#4 (maybe brighter?)

Come and knock on our door ... anytime!

Sunbeams

To buy on Etsy.

Good thoughts were clearly shining out of Nora yesterday:

Three months old!  This onesie was a gift from Grhonda (our mom, Nora's Grandma) - she got it on our big trip to Asheville last spring at Malaprops.  Isn't it cute?!  And the Babylegs legwarmers are awesome - no need to remove them for a diaper change :).

May good thoughts shine out of your face all day.

Let's Talk Tables

We get possession of our house in 11 days! Crazy town. We have a little dining area in our kitchen (above), and although we need a table for our actual dining room too,  I think we'll pick the kitchen table first since we have the perfect green chairs from Crate&Barrel that Dac's parents gave us. Right when I saw this space I envisioned the green chairs with a pretty white tulip table. Ideally, this one:

That Linens n' Things price is the cheapest I've seen one of these. But anyone have thoughts on where to find one MUCH cheaper than this? IKEA has this guy, which may be a good option...

But I just really want that marble top. Ideas/options welcome. This will also be a good spot to put a pretty little pendant. It's all looking very good in my mind.

Don't forget Jersey Shore starts tonight ... yeah pregnant Snooki!

Working Woman

So today I head back to work after a wonderful, overwhelming, crazy, amazing 12 weeks that I was so grateful to have.  While I am feeling a lot of gratitude for the time I had, of course it was never going to be enough.  Today I'm feeling:

Mad.

Disbelieving - are you SURE it's been 12 weeks?!

Skeptical.

Sad.

Excited - I will be glad to see my friends again.

Tired - is it bad that I'm already kinda exhausted?

Wish me luck!

The Great White Chili/Soup and Someone's Birthday...

Klanci (my sister-in-law) made this chili/soup for us last year while we were in Tulsa (maybe for Thanksgiving?). I say chili/soup because I'm not quite sure which category it falls into and keep forgetting to ask her. Ever since it has been a go-to fall/winter meal for Dac and I (that and my mom's beef stew which I will share at some point). It's easy and delicious and one of those feel-good foods. We made it last night for Monday night football, and it hit the spot once again.

It tastes very tortilla soup-y, but more hearty. Would be great with tortilla strips in it, but we did corn bread which I can't ever pass up with any kind of chili-related food.

White Bean Chicken Chili/Soup:
2 lbs. chicken breast - cooked and diced (or shredded)
2 cans white great northern beans
1 tbsp. olive oil
2 med. onions
2 cloves minced garlic
4 4-oz. cans mild green chiles (we just use 2 since I'm a wimp, pretty spicy otherwise)
2 tsp. ground cumin
1.5 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. cayene pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
6 cups chicken broth
3 cups monterey jack cheese
Salsa and sour cream (to serve with it)

Directions:
Heat oil in a medium pot.
Cook onion for 15 minutes
Add garlic, chiles, spices and cook for 2 minutes
Add beans and chicken broth. Cook to boil.
Add cooked chicken and simmer for 1 hour.
Add cheese just before done simmering to melt in.
Serve with sour cream and salsa.

Enjoy!

Also, I have to mention one very special birthday today - Bobby D/Diamond Bob/Dorkell Dickman - our dad! It's finally his turn to be double nickels! Hope your day is great Dad, and can't wait to celebrate with you in a few weeks! Love you!

Then (when Katie and I were little):

Now (proud Grandbob):
