Tutti Fruiti
I am so grateful for all of my birthday love yesterday! This arrived on my desk around lunch time:
It was SO CUTE and the fruit was awesome! Perfect for this pregnant lady who is craving fruity flavors!
Henry made me a delicious dinner and I opened some super-fun presents:
Anyone able to guess what my favorite colors are? :) 31 is looking pretty great so far!
Thank you so much Mom and Dad! |

Happy Birthday, Katie!
Happy birthday sister! I hope this is the kind of day you have... and also that you get this bag, since I know it was on your wish list!
Katie was born in 1981, and last year was her 30th. We threw a big 'ole party at she and Henry's new home, and it was a blast. I suppose this "theme" would work for any birthday of hers:
(awesome sign made by our mom)
The cake matched, and my mom and I came up with names for all of the food items that had something to do with Katie's life. All the decor was sort of modeled after Martha Stewart's confetti-inspired wedding. Wish we could do it again every year!
So Katie, you better party like it's Nineteen Katie One today! Go crazy.
Wish I were there to party with you.

IHWSH - Clutch Love
We both love to carry bigger bags because of all the stuff we "have" to lug around, but a clutch is a great thing to have for those nights out, lunch/dinner dates or just a quick errand. Fun fact: We each gave each other a clutch (and they were both Kate Spade!) as our maid of honor gift to the other for our wedding. Some of our current faves for this week's "I'll Have What She's Having":
Katie's Picks:
1. Constellation Clutch: Scout & Catalogue on Etsy 2. Emma Book Clutch: Kate Spade 3. Custom Emily Clutch: 1154 Lill (You pick your design! Use code clutch12 to save 25%.) 4. Large Leather Carry-all: American Apparel
Jayne's Picks:
5. Cherries and Berries Foldover: k.slademade 6. Envelop Clutch: ASOS 7. Mason Frame Clutch: Fossil 8. Hot Streak Clutch: Anthro

Mr. Pudding
As Katie mentioned yesterday, there was a neighborhood cat that hung around our B&B in Asheville (that she dubbed Mr. Pudding after another inside joke from our trip). We were playing a game on the veranda when Katie first spotted Mr. Pudding below us and freaked out because she thought he was a raccoon. After that, he was for some reason hilarious to us every time we saw him... especially after we got a close up look and realized he was cross-eyed. I know it's not nice to make fun of animals, but for some reason this had me crying laughing:
Mr. Pudding kept jumping in the shots throughout our trip:
Well, as you can see we had almost too much fun in Asheville. One more pic - us outside the Biltmore - just for good measure. We're reeeally far away from the house, and it's STILL that big.
Mr. Pudding didn't make it into that shot. As promised, Dac and I will be at the midnight premier showing of Hunger Games tonight - tomorrow will hurt!

Asheville Part Deux
We love Asheville! Such a fun city with lots to do and a laid-back attitude. As Jayne mentioned yesterday, we stayed at The Cedar Crest Inn, aka "The Pink Lady," which was perfect for our girls' weekend getaway! The B&B was great. We stayed in "The Celebration Suite" on the 3rd floor, so we had two bedrooms and a bathroom. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and it was so nice to roll out of bed and head straight down to a nice meal. We especially loved the wrap-around porch and spent many hours out there playing cards and laughing at stupid stuff like the giant cat roaming around the house, who I named "Mr. Pudding."
We spent a day at "America's Largest Home," The Biltmore. It was awesome! We all loved the audio tour throughout the house and the gardens are amazing. We have also heard that it's ridiculous at Christmas time and now I can't wait to go back and see it all decked out for the holidays!
We also spent a lot of time in the cool and unique shops around Asheville. Some of the treats I picked up:
On our last night, we had a delicious dinner at Rezaz. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Asheville, the food was great and the atmosphere was festive and fun!
Can we go back now please?

A tea towel from Malaprop's. (Tea towel not available on their site, but for sale here instead.) I want to frame it and hang it in a bedroom! |
These adorable earrings (sorry for the distorted image!) |
This scarf (again with the blur, Urban Outfitters doesn't like to share it's images) Our mom bought us these scarves which we then both wore the next day - not dorky at all. |

Asheville Part 1
This is the B&B we stayed at in Asheville, NC for our girls' trip this past weekend. We had such an amazing time and highly recommend this quirky, laid back little town when you're looking for a quick getaway. Katie found this B&B and I think she will be giving you more deets in another post - it was perfection, and of course we stayed in the "party suite."
Ironically, we went the weekend before the Hunger Games hits theaters - and Asheville and the surrounding area is where it was filmed. The cast stayed in Asheville during filming, in the condos at the top of Hotel Indigo (right in the middle of the downtown area). Apparently they have all kinds of Hunger Games travel packages. So because Katie and I are both obsessed/nerdy, we made a couple stops at places we had heard the cast frequented, like the Malaprop's Bookstore. We all made purchases here - great giftables. Me and Mom:
We also went to Early Girl Eatery, a place recommended for any visitor - a little farm to table restaurant with lots of delicious organic options. It also happens to be where Josh Hutcherson (who plays Peeta) met Entertainment Weekly for his interview, AND where he ate with former gf Vanessa Hudgens. We asked the waitress and she even told us where they sat. I then got a picture with the table (nerd alert). Early Girl:
The delicious coconut cake we had. YUM.
More to come on Asheville! And you can bet I will be at The Hunger Games on opening night (or maybe even Thursday at midnight)...
